For the past year, we have been meeting twice a month for a Bible Study and our Monthly EM Night. These nights are filled with deepening our faith in God, hands-on activities that connect our faith to real life, and building Godly community that encourages and empowers us. One month, we learned how to read our Bible, girls were given resources to assist them in Bible reading, and we made Bible bags. The next month, we created prayer boards, gathered together and prayed over one another, and were reminded the importance of prayer and that God hears every word we say.

Meet taylor
me and my precious husband, Gunner
Hi, I’m Taylor Barker! I’m 30 years old, and I’ve spent the last 10 years pastoring and have mentored over 500 students/young adults. I graduated from Lee University’s with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry and a minor in TESOL. My husband, Gunner, and I are loving life with our sweet golden doodle, Olive, traveling and preaching the Gospel, and discipling young adults.
I’m a bubbly, fall-loving girl with a deep passion for helping young women discover their identity in Christ. Leading Essentially Mended brings me so much joy as we journey together in growing our faith in Jesus and embrace life to the fullest with Him.

I struggle with anxiety and making friends but going to EM has helped me to build a community and make friends with girls who have the same faith as me.
"I have loved finding community of like minded girls and the Lord has shown me beauty through the girls and their lives. Seeing people from all different walks, ages etc pursue the Lord at different stages of their spiritual walk has been great for me and my walk with Christ! I've been able to minister to others and be Ministered to by peers which is great because it's a true community of believers not just a speaker and listeners. This is what I’ve been looking for!"
Taylor has mentored me for almost a decade. I can’t imagine who I would be right now without Taylor’s mentorship. One word to describe her mentoring is intentional. Taylor will seek you out and drop anything and everything to make sure you are ok. She has walked with me through some of the darkest times in my life, and instead of judging me and telling me what I am doing wrong, she instead prays with me, loves on me, and hears me out. I am stronger because of Taylor. I am confident because of Taylor. I love people more because of Taylor. I believe in myself because of Taylor and because God placed her in my life. She never let a day go by without telling me that she believes in me and that she sees greatness in me. God has placed such a genuine and loving anointing on her, and He is using her to help women become who they were created to be. I’m thankful for her and who she is in Christ. She is one of my best friends and sisters. Taylor will fight for you and with you. I am forever changed because she said “Yes” to the calling on her life.
My favorite thing is when you do your Bible studies! My testimony is that EM opened me up to new challenges and helped get over my social anxiety. I also met a lot of really cool people.
